The continuous heavy rains currently experienced in the Central division has led to flash flooding in greater Suva overnight.

Police Spokesman, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri has revealed that areas between Lami to Suva were flooded adding that a family in Veisari on the outskirts of Lami had to be evacuated last night by police.

While Water levels have receded this morning, a number of roads are still heavily water logged.

Sokomuri has called on motorist to take precautions.

“With the long weekend upon us, there will be great movement of traffic because of the IDC in Suva and the Farebrother match in Sigatoka tomorrow, drivers are urged to drive with care,” he said.
